As per these orders, the ADC (General), Paramdeep Singh has been assigned with the task of Mohali sub-division while ADC (Urban Development) Damanjit Singh Mann will oversee Derabassi sub-division along with the urban area of Kharar. Similarly, ADC (Rural Development) Amit Bamby will observe the rural area of Mohali district.
Vector-Borne Diseases are of six types (Malaria, Dengue, Chikungunya, Japanese Encephalitis, Lymphatic Filariasis, Kala-Azar). They are seasonal and outbreak prone with all except lymphatic Filariasis showing outbreaks during monsoon and post-monsoon period generally.
This year, the district recorded 56 dengue cases and 24 malaria cases. No chikungunya cases have been reported so far. The district recorded 1,539 dengue cases in 2019, 239 in 2020, 295 in 2021 and 388 cases in 2022. Meanwhile, 2,797 malaria cases were reported in 2019, and the number dropped to 1,397 in 2020, 689 in 2021 and 168 cases were reported last year.
In 2022, a total of 8,756 cases were reported in the state and officials estimate that a similar number might be seen this year too. Currently however, most of the cases being reported have been mild in nature.
The health department is closely monitoring the situation and receiving regular updates from the Meteorological Department regarding cyclone Biparjoy. The cyclone has already made its way into the state, impacting districts such as Barmer, Jalore, and Pali.
The tally of dengue cases in the Indore district still stood at zero because of the non-reporting of cases.

The dengue outbreak was first reported in September and health authorities had claimed to have made a number of arrangements to deal with the situation. Till Sunday morning, Haryana had registered 6,151 cases and 14 deaths, as per health officials. The chikungunya cases in the state have also increased manifold this year.
